The Elite Combined Structural / Pipe Program prepares students for journeyman level positions in residential, commercial and industrial structural steel and pipe welding. These types of welders can be found in various areas such as light and heavy commercial or industrial shop fabrication, paper mills, refineries, power plants, chemical plants, food processing plants, oil and gas pipelines, manufacturing facilities, and more.

• SMAW E7018 in Flat, Horizontal and Vertical positions
• SMAW “T” Joint Fillet Welds using E6010 and E7018 in the Horizontal 2F, Vertical 3F and Overhead 4F positions
• GMAW “T” Joint Fillet Welds in the Horizontal 2F, Vertical 3F and Overhead 4F positions
• Air Carbon Arc Gouging
• FCAW Butt Joint Groove Welds without backing in the Flat 1G, Horizontal 2G, Vertical 3G and Overhead 4G positions
• SMAW Butt Joint Groove Welds with backing using E7018 in the Horizontal 2G and Vertical 3G positions
• SMAW Butt Joint Groove Welds without backing using E6010 in the Horizontal 2G and Vertical 3G positions
• SMAW Butt Joint Groove Welds without backing using E6010 and E7018 in the Flat 1G, Horizontal 2G, Vertical 3G and Overhead 4G positions
• SMAW Groove Welds on 2”, 3”, and 4” Pipe using E6010 and E7018 in the 2G, 5G, and 6G positions
• SMAW Fillet Welds on 2” socket weld fittings using E7018 in the 2F and 5F positions
• GTAW Butt Joint Groove Welds on 2” and 4” Pipe using ER70S6 Filler Material in the 2G, 5G and 6G positions
• GTAW Fillet Welds on 2” Socket Weld Fitting using ER70S6 Filler Material in the 2F and 5F positions
• SMAW and/or GTAW Restricted Welds in Field Welding Simulators in the 2GR, 5GR and 6GR positions
• Combo Pipe Welding GTAW and FCAW Groove Welds on 4” pipe in the 5G position
• Combo Pipe Welding GTAW and SMAW Groove Welds on 2” Pipe using ER70S6 and E7018 in the 5G and 6G positions
• Field Ready Welds SMAW on 2” through 12” on Outside Field Welding Simulator
• Job Ready Weld Test administered by a CWI to make sure students are ready for their upcoming career
• Job preparation, resume building, online craft profile creation, and pre/post employment practices
