Elite Combo Pipe Welding Program

Program Description and Job Outcomes

The Elite Combo Pipe Welding Program prepares students for journeyman level positions in commercial and industrial pipe welding. Welders will be trained utilizing the SMAW (stickwelding) and GTAW (TIG welding) welding processes.

Pipe welders can be found in various areas, such as industrial pre-fabrication shops, paper mills, refineries, power plants, chemical plants, food processing plants, oil and gas pipelines, and more.

Arkansas Elite Welding Academy students leave the pipe program with the skills, knowledge, and experience they need to find high-paying, in-demand welding jobs across the country.

Job Placement Assistance Program

Job Placement Assistance comprises 20 hours of the program curriculum. As part of this process, students will complete Pre-Job Placement Assistance which includes developing a resume and online contractor profiles, a Financial Planning Seminar, and Job Placement Assistance which consists of making phone calls to contractors.

The goals of the Job Placement Assistance Program are for students to learn how to get their own jobs and that students will have their first weld test lined up before program completion. Scheduling a weld test is dependent upon (1) work available at the program end date, (2) a student’s participation in the job placement assistance process, and (3) a student’s willingness to make phone calls and travel where work is available and tests are being given.
